wonderful game!

This puzzle is very easy to play. It's played by one player choosing a number and the other player reading that question number. The one who hears the question answers, higher or lower. If they are correct, they win that round. I played this with my 13 year old son who loves history. He and his older brother adore history and quiz each other about different events and people. This has added to their quiz rounds. wonderful game!

SO MANY QUESTIONS, SO LITTLE INFORMATION

I ordered these history cards for my personal use because I like trivia and because I am of an age when keeping my brain sharp has become a thing. I planned to read through them and do my own guessing, not use them as a puzzle to play with others. The cards are slightly larger than regular playing cards and decent quality. I do like the concept. Here’s what I don’t like: - The print is tiny. Seriously tiny. It takes effort to read even with my reading glasses. - The answers are all printed in a row upside down on the bottom of each card. There has to be a better way. I don’t want to be able to see the answer until I’ve come up with one, but then I want to be able to see it easily. I found that sliding my thumb across them worked fairly well, but still. - The only answer provided is higher, lower, more, less, etc. That teaches me very little. I don’t just want to know “Did the Maya civilization build more or fewer sun temples than the Incas?” (more) I want a detailed answer. How many did each build? Also, they built sun temples?? Tell me more. - My cursory glance at the cards tells me that some questions are absurdly impossible and others are just boring. Here is a selection: Did the construction of the ancient city of Mohenjo-Daro in the Indus Valley start earlier or later than the creation of the first sewn clothing? (earlier) – This was my very first question. Show of hands, please: Who here has ever heard of Mohenjo-Daro? How is this relevant? You have to pick reference points we understand to make this exercise worthwhile. Was the level of centralization in colonial governance during the Age of Imperialism more or less extensive than in the feudal system of medieval Europe? (more) – I have three graduate degrees which is decent because I had to read this question three times. Was the level of gender equality in medieval noble courts higher or lower than that in ancient royal courts? (higher) – This sort of question is actually interesting. But without some follow up, what’s even the point? This deck would be better if each card contained one question with a detailed answer.

wonderful way to teach history!

We are homeschoolers and I am always looking for ways to make lessons and school more intriguing . These cards are wonderful a large variety of history covered and they are enjoyable and they teach the entire family! Quality cards and printing, plenty of cards to go through and also helps you go down a rabbit hole of learning.
